At Grup Els Meners we have two very different ways of staying in Canillo: the aparthotel apartments and the bungalows. Both have a kitchen and both are a few minutes from the Grandvalira lifts, but they do not suit the same kind of trip. Here is the honest comparison.
The aparthotel apartment
The apartment is the choice for travellers who want to be in the centre of Canillo, with shops, restaurants and the cable car within walking distance. You get a fully equipped kitchen, so breakfast and dinner can happen at your own pace, and you still have the services of a building: reception, a free ski room and daily life taken care of.
- In the village: everything within walking distance.
- Equipped kitchen and dining area.
- Free ski and boot room.
- Breakfast available for 12 EUR per person.
It works particularly well for couples and for groups who ski: you leave your equipment in the ski room, you walk out in the morning and you are on the slopes.
The bungalow
The bungalow is a small house of its own, surrounded by mountains. It is quieter, it is more independent and it gives you an outdoor space, which changes the holiday completely if you are travelling with children or with a dog.
- Independent house with its own entrance.
- Kitchen, living area and outdoor space.
- Dinner service available for 25 EUR per person.
- Rates drop from the fifth night onwards.
For stays of a week or more the bungalow usually ends up being the better value, precisely because of that reduction from the fifth night.
What both have in common
The booking conditions are the same in both cases: a minimum of two nights (five over Christmas), check-in from 16.00 and check-out by 11.00, a 150 EUR deposit at arrival and the Andorran taxes applied as the law requires. Cots cost 5 EUR, extra beds 15 EUR and the end-of-stay cleaning 15 EUR.
So which one?
If your trip is short, ski-focused and you want the village at your feet, take the aparthotel apartment. If you are staying a week, travelling with family or looking for silence and an outdoor space, take the bungalow. And if what you really want is to sleep closer to the river and the forest, our campsites reopen on 1 June 2027.
