Nobody likes finding a surprise on the final bill. So here is, in plain words, everything that makes up the price of a stay with us in Canillo, and what the law in Andorra requires us to charge.
IGI: Andorra’s version of VAT
Andorra does not have VAT, it has the IGI. For tourist accommodation the rate is 4.5%, considerably lower than in neighbouring countries. It is already included in the rates we show you.
Tourist tax
The tourist tax is 1.57 EUR per person per day, applied from the age of 16 and capped at a maximum of 7 days per stay. It is a legal obligation, it goes to the Andorran administration and it is the same at every establishment in the country.
Deposit
At check-in we take a 150 EUR deposit, which is returned at the end of the stay provided there is no damage. It is standard practice in self-catering accommodation with a kitchen.
Minimum stays and times
- Two nights minimum all year round.
- Five nights minimum over the Christmas period.
- Check-in from 16.00, check-out by 11.00.
Extras, one by one
- Breakfast: 12 EUR per person.
- Dinner at the bungalows: 25 EUR per person.
- Cot: 5 EUR.
- Extra bed: 15 EUR.
- End-of-stay cleaning: 15 EUR.
- Ski room: free.
Cancellations
At the aparthotel, cancelling less than 4 days before arrival means 50% of the stay is charged. At the bungalows, the same 50% applies to cancellations made between 10 and 4 days before arrival.
How to make it cheaper
Two things genuinely bring the price down: staying five nights or more at the bungalows, where the nightly rate drops, and cooking at home, since every unit has a kitchen. A week with your own breakfasts and two or three dinners out is a very different budget from a week of eating out every day.
